Professional 16" x 20" manual swing-away heat press featuring a full-color LCD touchscreen, programmable presets, heavy-duty even-heating platen, adjustable pressure, and nearly 180° swing-away operation for textile transfers and sublimation.

Characteristics

The HIX EVO TOUCH SwingMan 20 Swing Away Heat Press is a professional 16" x 20" manual heat transfer press engineered for decorators who need exceptional pressure, dependable heat distribution, and the versatility to work with both thin garments and thicker sublimation substrates.

Designed for professional textile transfer and sublimation production, the SwingMan 20 uses a swing-away upper heat platen that moves almost 180° away from the lower platen. Moving the heated platen completely away from the loading area provides unobstructed access when positioning garments, transfers, tiles, plaques, and other substrates while helping keep the operator away from the heated surface.

A large 16" x 20" heat platen provides ample working area for T-shirts, sweatshirts, DTF transfers, heat transfer vinyl, transfer papers, sublimation applications, ceramic tiles, plaques, mouse pads, glass cutting boards, license plates, rhinestones, and many other compatible heat-transfer products.

The EVO TOUCH control system incorporates an integrated full-color LCD touchscreen controller for convenient adjustment of production settings. Operators can control time and temperature from the touchscreen and save up to four programmable presets, making it easier to switch between frequently used transfer applications.

Temperature can be adjusted from ambient/off up to 450°F (232°C), providing the operating range required for a wide variety of professional heat-transfer and dye-sublimation processes.

At the heart of the SwingMan 20 is HIX's heavy-duty heat casting, manufactured in-house using an exclusive aluminum alloy designed to maximize heat transfer. The heating system is engineered to provide dependable, uniform heat across the platen for consistent transfer results throughout production.

A floating lower platen helps maintain even pressure from edge to edge while accommodating substrates of varying thickness. This makes the SwingMan 20 especially useful for sublimation shops working with products beyond standard apparel.

The press features a spring-assisted handle with a full range of pressure adjustment. HIX's handle and linkage design provides increased mechanical advantage, allowing substantial pressing force to be generated while reducing the amount of effort required from the operator.

Unlike pneumatic swing-away presses, the SwingMan 20 operates completely manually and does not require an air compressor. This simplifies installation while still providing the vertical pressure and open loading area that make swing-away presses particularly effective for sublimation and specialty transfer applications.

The SwingMan 20 is available in 120V and 220V configurations. HIX notes that the 220V configuration provides faster heat recovery for applications requiring quicker production cycles.

Heavy-duty professional construction, versatile pressure adjustment, touchscreen controls, and its open swing-away design make the HIX EVO TOUCH SwingMan 20 an excellent production heat press for apparel decorators, sublimation businesses, sign and promotional-product shops, and other professional heat-transfer operations.

Usage Tips
  • Allow the heat press to reach the required operating temperature before beginning production.
  • Set the time, temperature, and pressure according to the recommendations supplied with the transfer material being used.
  • Save frequently used transfer settings as programmable presets to reduce setup time when switching between applications.
  • Swing the heated upper platen completely away from the loading area before positioning garments or rigid substrates.
  • Center the substrate on the lower platen and verify that the transfer is properly aligned before swinging the heat platen into position.
  • Adjust pressure while the press is open using the pressure adjustment control.
  • Use only the amount of pressure recommended for the transfer and substrate being processed.
  • When pressing thicker rigid substrates, confirm that the press closes properly without excessive pressure before beginning the timed cycle.
  • Use protective sheets, platen protectors, or other compatible accessories when required by the transfer process.
  • Keep the heat platen and lower platen pad clean to prevent contamination from affecting finished transfers.
  • HIX recommends installing equipment with appropriate surge protection.
  • HIX recommends operating the press in a climate-controlled environment for best performance.
  • HIX notes that 120V models have slower heat recovery than 220V models. For higher-volume applications requiring faster recovery between cycles, consider the appropriate 220V configuration.
  • Always follow the transfer manufacturer's specific recommendations for time, temperature, pressure, and peeling procedure.
